Black squad game freezes12/20/2023 ![]() My GPU has no idea when it's processing a death nor does it care. NOTE: The fact this happens only when someone dies is absolute proof the issue is not hardware related. In this second video, you'll see a pause right when Kyoze kills Pretorian84 with a rifle so it doesn't appear to be a grenade issue. I've found this to be the case in every instance where I've been looking at the killspam. Notice that the stoppage happens at the exact moment player NoDadNotAgain takes out two players with a grenade. ![]() Just to be clear, I didn't pause the video, the only thing I did to the video was add the countdown and loop it a few times. At the beginning or at the end of an engagement the game freezes and I've searched steam discussion, it seems like many people have this issue. Still, because I back up regularly and my machine getting rooted would be a trivial fix, I'll give it a shot and report back on whether this fixes the issue or not.Īlso, I'll be trying to grab a screen recording and post the results here. If a game needed no firewall to run properly, the developers do not know what they're doing. Also, a firewall wouldn't cause the problem to happen only at the moment of engagement. A firewall protects your computer from being hit by network scans which can map ports, determine if there are ports listening with underlying software/firmware which can be overflowed or exploited in some way. I have no AV running and turning off a firewall is a really, really bad idea. If someone sends a letter through the mail but puts the zipcode at the top above the recipient, it might very well get to the intended address but the machine which reads the envelope would spit it into a bin for a human to read and sort. Saying it's on the gamer's end is partially true but misleading. What's likely happening is the developers have a bit of wonky code which isn't talking to the hardware in a well-formed way, the network stack or driver software is saying "this bit of information or direction isn't well-formed," the software chokes on it for a moment and that's that. I say "solely" because it probably does have to do with my hardware but not due to it being insufficient (or I'd see it in other games while playing online). If the problem was solely with my hardware, I'd see this happen with every engagement. I run plenty of games like GTA V, Modern Warfare and Planetside 2, at high video settings, without a single hiccup. I don't have a monster rig (Win7, AMD FX 6350 3.9 GHz, AMD Radeon R9 200 4GB) but it's certainly capable of running Black Squad.
